Capacity

Why affirmative cover

Your current policies were written before AI.

The traditional insurance policies most companies carry were written before generative AI. They are silent on AI failure modes, and some insurers have started adding AI exclusions. Armilla names those failure modes in a standalone policy, so you can deploy AI with coverage in writing and answer procurement questions with a certificate.

What the policy covers

AI Model Error: Third-party financial loss from AI errors, inaccurate outputs and hallucinations.

AI Model Output: Claims arising from AI outputs, including defamation, breach of confidentiality and trade secret disclosure.

AI Agent Mistakes: Claims arising from agent actions, including incorrect decisions and failures to escalate.

Non-Breach Privacy & Data Leakage: Claims and regulatory investigations arising from unintended disclosures through model outputs.

AI Property Damage: Damage to third-party property caused by an underperforming AI system.

AI Regulatory Violations: Defense costs and fines for investigations into AI underperformance, including under the Colorado AI Act and EU AI Act.

Limits up to US$25 million aggregate per insured, and up to US$5 million per model.

Affirmative AI Liability Insurance is underwritten by certain underwriters at Lloyd's.

Built for companies building and deploying AI

AI developers and vendors: You sell AI products and services. Your customers want guarantees, and proof your AI risk is insured before they sign.

AI deployers: You use AI in your products or operations, built in-house or bought. Your board and regulators want to know who pays when AI fails.

Sectors: Financial services, insurance, HR and hiring, telecommunications, retail and e-commerce, professional services, and software.

Brokers, bring AI liability coverage to your clients

Specialist underwriting: Our underwriters price AI risk from a technical review of each system, plus data from the Armilla AI Risk Hub.

A cover clients need: Enterprise buyers now ask AI vendors for proof of insurance. You place the cover they ask for.

Broker support: A dedicated contact, training and co-marketing.

How the policy responds

Illustrative scenarios

Customer service chatbot

A retailer's chatbot starts quoting a refund policy the retailer doesn't offer. Customers bring a class action for the promised refunds. The policy covers the settlement and agreed defense costs, above the deductible and within the limit.

Credit decisioning model

A lender's loan model misclassifies applicants after a shift in its input data. A partner bank claims losses from the approvals. The policy responds to the third-party claim.

Procurement agent

A procurement firm's AI agent, scheduled with an order-accuracy Model Metric, falls below it and places client orders with the wrong suppliers. Clients claim their extra costs, and the policy responds to those claims.

Scenarios are illustrative. Coverage depends on the issued policy wording.
